High-quality psychotherapy
Mental health is an essential part of human well-being and belongs to everyone, regardless of where they are or live.
I am a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist (Kela-accredited). I provide psychotherapy and psychological services primarily online, and in-person at my office in Helsinki when needed. My work is calm, structured, clear, and practical, and always proceeds based on the client’s situation.
It all began in the Turku Archipelago.
My work began in the Turku Archipelago, where, while living with my family, I opened my first practice in the village of Nauvo during the final stages of my studies. The archipelago conditions and long distances reinforced the idea that psychological services should be accessible regardless of one’s place of residence.
I have been working as a psychologist entrepreneur since 2016. Alongside entrepreneurship and afterwards, I have gained extensive clinical experience in public healthcare and other demanding work environments. I have worked, among other roles, as a psychologist at a psychiatric outpatient clinic and an adult psychiatry ward at Porvoo Hospital (HUS), in secondary education in the City of Porvoo, and at Omsorgsbyrån in Helsinki, as well as previously in Åboland under the Kårkulla Joint Municipal Authority. Additionally, I have completed internships in specialized psychiatric care at Turku Archipelago Hospital in Parainen, and have done substitute and temporary work in various municipalities and municipal federations.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology (MPsych, Åbo Akademi) and am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy (University of Tampere). I have Kela-accreditation for rehabilitation psychotherapy for adolescents (16–17 years) and adults. I am a Valvira-licensed psychologist and psychotherapist.
I work in Finnish, Swedish, and English. My diverse experience in entrepreneurship and public healthcare has shaped my approach to be calm, structured, clear, and practical, supporting the client’s daily life and functional capacity.
Office in Helsinki
I have a practice and office space in Helsinki at Lutherinkatu 4, right across from the Temppeliaukio Church. The office is located in a central and quiet area with good transport connections.
In-person appointments can be arranged when necessary and on a one-time basis. Currently, however, my work focuses primarily on remote sessions, and the number of in-person visits is limited due to my personal circumstances. Remote work allows for a flexible and accessible therapeutic relationship regardless of location.
Due to work and daily life, I regularly travel across Finland, especially between Helsinki, Turku, Mariehamn, Kitee, and Parikkala. This has, in part, reinforced the practicality and enduring role of remote work in my practice.
Emphasis on remote therapy
From the very beginning, since 2016, I have emphasized remote services in my practice. The goal of remote work has been to provide flexible, safe, and confidential psychotherapeutic care that evolves with technology and is as smooth and comfortable as possible for the client.
In my work, I use appropriate software, including open-source solutions, for purposes such as illustrating and structuring the therapeutic process. I employ camera technology suitable for remote work, such as a separate document camera to display materials on the desk and a movable camera that helps maintain eye contact and the natural flow of interaction even online.
I do not use cloud services in my work, nor do I store client data in electronic patient record systems. Notes, calendar entries, and client records are kept on paper or strongly encrypted, separate from network connections. Only email communication related to appointment scheduling occurs on European servers, and these emails do not contain sensitive personal data. If needed, more secure communication methods based on stronger data protection solutions are also available.
There are several ways to contact me, although Kela-supported rehabilitation psychotherapy always requires video-based sessions.
Remote therapy has proven to be a more flexible form of therapy for many clients compared to in-person visits alone. Through remote sessions, clients can work in the environment where daily challenges arise, or in a safe and functional space of their choice, such as at home, in nature, or another calm environment. A key aspect is that the client can arrange a private space for themselves during the session.
